These Terms govern your access to and use of Chompix services, including the app, mini app, and skill-based prediction contests operated by Chompix LLC.
Chompix contests are free to play. No purchase or payment is required to enter, participate, or win. Entry and bracket submission are performed entirely off-chain through the Chompix app — no token transfer, smart-contract call, or gas fee is required from you to participate. Wallet connect (when used) is for identity and login only.
Chompix contests are games of skill, with winner determination based on prediction accuracy and the published scoring rules.
Each tournament may include supplemental Official Rules, including lock time, prize details, and tie-breakers. If those rules conflict with these Terms for a specific tournament, the Official Rules for that tournament control.
Paid and promotional prediction contests are structured as games of skill. For bracket contests, the app ranks entrants using placement points with progressive weights by round (admin or seed opening rounds may add no placement but still inform score tie-breaks). When score prediction is enabled, later tie-breaks use total correct team placements, then lower average score error on exact predicted matchups, then a count of exact scores on qualifying matchups; if still tied, the prize splits evenly. World Cup–style, single-elimination, and double-elimination formats differ in detail. Placement weights for 8-team double elimination (including classic upper quarterfinals vs. 8-team 4 upper / 4 lower split starts) are specific to that knockout size and layout. The in-app Scoring system modal and standings describe the rules for each event, including any group-stage placement bonus when enabled.
This App is a free-to-play, skill-based prediction contest operated by Chompix LLC. Winners are determined solely by user skill, analysis, and prediction accuracy. There is no element of chance, no entry fee, no house rake, and no operator fee of any kind. Entering a pool and submitting a bracket is fully off-chain. No payment, token transfer, or on-chain transaction is required to participate.
You must be at least 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction). You represent and warrant that you are not located in, a resident of, or a national of any jurisdiction subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions (including, without limitation, North Korea, Iran, Syria, Cuba, or any other comprehensively sanctioned country as updated by OFAC from time to time). You further represent that you are not using any wallet address or account associated with a person or entity on the OFAC SDN List or other applicable sanctions lists.
We perform reasonable risk-based screening, including account and wallet-address checks (for example against sanctions lists or via a third-party screening provider) before any prize distribution, and may use IP and similar signals as supplemental indicators. We reserve the right to block access, void entries, or withhold prizes if we reasonably suspect a violation.
Prizes are funded by Chompix or tournament sponsors and awarded based solely on verifiable skill-based outcomes, as described in each tournament's in-app rules.
Because entry is always free, there is no player-funded pool and no concept of entry fees being pooled or redistributed. Any listed "entry amount" in the app is informational only (for example, to reflect a sponsor's prize structure) and will never be charged to players.
Winners are solely responsible for all taxes, duties, and reporting obligations arising from any prize received, valued at its fair market value in USD at the time of receipt. Chompix LLC does not provide tax advice.
We apply a unified practical threshold of $2,000 cumulative winnings per wallet per calendar year for both U.S. and international winners. For in-app tracking, USDC on Base is treated as one U.S. dollar per 1 USDC; other tokens may be handled manually until fair market value is recorded.
If the required documentation is not provided:
Prizes paid to non-U.S. residents may constitute U.S.-source income subject to 30% withholding tax unless reduced by an applicable tax treaty via a valid W-8BEN. By using the $2,000 threshold, we are adopting a practical, user-friendly compliance approach. You may need to file a U.S. tax return (e.g., Form 1040-NR) to claim any refund or treaty benefits. You remain fully responsible for taxes in your home country.
This is a free-to-play, skill-based contest, not gambling. No purchase or payment is ever required to enter, play, or win. We implement reasonable risk-based compliance measures (sanctions screening, geo signals, and tax documentation for larger prizes) but cannot guarantee perfect detection. Participation is at your own risk. You must comply with all laws applicable in your jurisdiction. Tax rules are complex and subject to change — consult your own qualified tax advisor. We reserve the right to modify these rules or block users as necessary to comply with applicable law.
